A Razr family picture

Motorola has done it again. Their all-new smartphone lineup includes the jaw-dropping DROID RAZR by Motorola family.

The DROID RAZR HD, DROID RAZR MAXX HD and the DROID RAZR M were all unveiled recently at an event in New York City and Android users are in for a treat. With Verizon as the cohost of the event, they announced that each phone is set to launch on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Take a look at some of the great new features of the DROID RAZR family.

New specs

Each member of the family is built around the concept of speed. A 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM are included in each one of these blazing fast devices. The DROID RAZR MAXX HD, DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR M offer 32GB, 16GB and 8GB of on-board storage, respectively with the option to add up to 32GB of extra space via MicroSD.

Beautiful display

The DROID RAZR MAXX HD and the DROID RAZR HD are mom and pop in the DROID RAZR household, with 4.7 inch, 1280 x 720 resolution screens while the DROID RAZR M is just behind them with a 4.3-inch display and 960 x 540 resolution.

Picture perfect

The entire DROID RAZR family features 8MP video cameras with 1080p recording. Each phone will also have a front-facing chat camera at 1.3MP on the DROID RAZR MAXX HD and DROID RAZR HD, and VGA resolution in the DROID RAZR M.

Ice cream sandwich for now

The only downside, which isn’t really a downside, is that the family will not ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean installed. 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be standard on these new devices with updates to the newest Android OS coming by “the end of the year.”

Being owned by Google hasn’t enabled Motorola to ship the new DROID RAZR family with Android 4.1: Jelly Bean, the latest Android OS. Chrome will be the default browser at launch.

Verizon 4G LTE ready

With the announcement of these amazing devices came another exciting announcement when we were told that they are all Verizon 4G LTE ready. While Verizon’s 4G LTE network is a big deal, it will of course run on 3G if Verizon’s 4G network is not available in your area.

On another note, we are excited to join in the buzz! OtterBox will be providing protection for DROID RAZR MAXX HD, DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR M. Are you excited to join the DROID RAZR family? Share your excitement in the comments below!
