About Ingrid
Hi, I’m Ingrid. I’m what you might call an at-home-gourmet. My husband and I go nuts cooking most days of the week, especially weekends. We’ll be eating an amazing breakfast we just made discussing what culinary adventure to take on for dinner. During a rare dinner out, we usually look at each other and say “I can make that better.” My posts will lean toward the culinary along with my usual random observations.

I just can’t get enough of the sea salt caramel ice cream my local store sells. It is some of the best ice cream I’ve had and I feel like something is missing if there isn’t a container of it in my freezer.
My kids were wondering why I hadn’t made some salt caramel ice cream myself and I wondered the same thing. So I’ve dug up a couple recipes I’m going to try and see if I can make it as good as the one I get at the store.

Here in Colorado we’ve had the warmest spring on record in years. And last weekend our neighbors hosted a ‘Fry’ party. The invite let us know there would be two deep fryers going and there would be an award for the best “tastes like chicken” offering. Awesome! I love a good challenge and this is my favorite kind of friendly competition — food focused.
The husband and I talked over all our ideas and came up with three things… Read More

We’ve had such remarkably warm temperatures this spring, I’m ready to eat outdoors every meal, every day. Unfortunately, last weekend I was disappointed to discover we no longer have an outdoor table. It appears my Kmart-special plastic table that I’ve had for about ten years finally broke to pieces and the husband pitched it.
Not to be discouraged, I’m still focusing on spring recipes that will be great to eat outside despite my lack of a table. It looks like asparagus, strawberries, snap peas and snow peas are favorite ingredients this time of year. And the majority of spring recipes… Read More
