About Ingrid
Hi, I’m Ingrid. I’m what you might call an at-home-gourmet. My husband and I go nuts cooking most days of the week, especially weekends. We’ll be eating an amazing breakfast we just made discussing what culinary adventure to take on for dinner. During a rare dinner out, we usually look at each other and say “I can make that better.” My posts will lean toward the culinary along with my usual random observations.

After this weekend, I completely understand what they mean. Here in Colorado we had the sunniest, warmest Memorial Day weekend in years and it has been hot and sunny since. Up until Friday, that is.

My house just gets too hot when we use the range and oven, plus that means I’m inside and not out enjoying the nice evenings. To remedy this, we do as much cooking as we can on our backyard BBQ . For our first major outdoor meal of the season, we slow cooked beer can chicken, ribs and a favorite side dish of mine, grilled stuffed chilies.… Read More

I love to make bread. I’ve been doing it for years and have only had one really bad loaf. In my household I’ve been the bread maker and I consider myself the bread expert.
My husband recently acquired (we are the king and queen of hand-me-downs and cast-offs; consider it our way of doing our part for the environment) an automated bread machine. It’s been great because he’s been making a fresh loaf of bread for the family each Sunday night. And, there’s nothing like bread fresh out of the oven.
I hate to say this but, I think my… Read More
