About Ingrid

Ingrid

Hi, I’m Ingrid. I’m what you might call an at-home-gourmet. My husband and I go nuts cooking most days of the week, especially weekends. We’ll be eating an amazing breakfast we just made discussing what culinary adventure to take on for dinner. During a rare dinner out, we usually look at each other and say “I can make that better.” My posts will lean toward the culinary along with my usual random observations.

Goodies to Give

Holiday cookieEvery year at Christmas the husband and I bake like crazy. We carry on the tradition from his family and give out plates of cookies and treats to all of our neighbors on Christmas Eve. They mostly stem from the Basic Butter Cookie Dough recipe I found on the Epicurious web… Read More

Thoughts on Thanksgiving

When he cooked up… Read More

Turkey day is almost here

Thanksgiving turkeyIt’s still early yet, but today I found myself emailing my sister and husband scheming what we should cook for Thanksgiving. I was surprised to realize the husband hasn’t been planning out the details of that feast yet. He hasn’t even talked about a theme. Last year he was working out the menu in July. He wanted an Asian theme, but we ended up keeping it pretty traditional.

For this year’s feast, I proposed a bacon theme to my sister. We can bake the turkey with strips of bacon laid across it and we can put bacon into all the… Read More
