OtterCares – High Park Fire efforts
There is nothing like the camaraderie of the OtterBox team and some of our friends to accomplish a project. Recently the wildfires that struck our Northern Colorado community in High Park and surrounding areas called for some assistance and we were up to the task!
On June 19, OtterBox joined forces with Brinkman Partners and McWhinney to make sifter boxes for local community residents who lost their homes in the fire. In two hours, 200 sifters were made and then donated to Red Cross of Northern Colorado to be distributed to families affected by the fire.
The project started early in the morning as Otters strayed away from their desks and offered their support. Several volunteers cut lumber and assembled the boxes. Next, screening was added to the boxes at various stations, and finally inspiring messages to fire victims were written on each box.
More than 50 volunteers from OtterBox, Brinkman and McWhinney helped the work go quickly and volunteers were grateful for the opportunity to support the local community. A special thanks to Gib’s Bagels who donated food for volunteers and to BMC West who donated lumber to assemble to boxes with. All in all it was a great team effort from our community.
