Say cheese! Photo apps for your smartphone
If you’re like me and you find yourself taking more and more photos with your smartphone, then you know that you need a little something more than the standard editing options. Luckily, there are a lot of awesome apps available to enhance your photo-taking, editing and publishing options. Here’s a rundown of my top five favorite camera apps.
This is not only my favorite photography app, it’s by far my favorite app of all time. Instagram gives users the ability to add filters to photos that turn ordinary pictures into beautiful pieces of art. Add the ability to share photos on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks and you’ve got one of the best apps ever made. (iOS and Android)
Photosynth is the panorama creation app that makes it easy and fun to capture and share interactive panoramas of the places, people and events that you experience. Using the latest in computer vision techniques, you can not only make a panorama from left to right, but also up and down, enabling you to capture a full sphere. You can share your creations with your friends on Facebook, publish them to Bing, or embed them in your own blog or website. (iOS and Windows Phone)
Camera Zoom FX is a camera control and image enhancement app for Android-based phones. With a professional looking user interface and impressive range of camera features like voice activation, self-timer and burst mode, it’s not difficult to see why this app is one of the most popular of its kind. (Android)
Camera Awesome takes your photos to the next level by shooting fast and taking sharper, better-exposed shots. Make your memories come alive with stunning professional effects. This app is crammed with over 300 filters, presets, textures and frames that help you “awesomize” your photos. (iOS)
Pudding Camera is yet another tantalizing app for budding photographers. While it lacks some of the extensive features of paid alternatives, it’s a sleek and simple application, featuring a number of filters and camera styles to spice up your snaps. (iOS and Android)
